A message from VVA President regarding Newsletter

To: All Members We are currently in the process of revamping the newsletter. Kevin N. and Louise B. have been doing it for a long time, and it is time they got a break. Please bear with us as we transition from the old format to a new one. Along the way we will be introducing some new sections to the newsletter. We will do everything possible to bring you the quality newsletter you have grown accustomed to. We will have a suggestion box where members can write in offering suggestions for the club. We are also going to have a section for a “toy of the month.” And of course we encourage members to write in if they have an interesting VW story to tell. If you have a suggestion for the club, a story, picture, or anything else to submit to the newsletter, the all new newsletter email address is vvanewsletter@hotmail.com . In closing, I would like to personally thank Kevin and Louise for their years of unrecognized, dedicated service to our club. Take a break you two…..You’ve Earned It. Just want to say Thank You to Tim for all the hard work he has done to improve our club web site, it looks great.  I and I'm sure Tim would like to hear some feedback about what people think of the changes.  so please let us know.  You can contact Tim via the Webmaster link, or myself via the VVA President link under the "Contact Us" section.  Once again Tim, the site looks great.  Thank You for all your hard work.
New VVA web site

Hello fellow VVA members,

  You have found the new proposed VVA web site and wish to explain some of the technical details. The site uses the Joomla Content Management System (CMS) which offers many benefits and advantages. It also uses Casading Sytle Sheets (CSS) and templates, which means style and content are separate entities. This allows to change the style of the site with the flip of the switch. If there is a preferred Joomla template you with to use or try, let me or any of the club officiers know.  

  Upon registering, you will find many new member-only servics which include blogs, forums, galleries, member profiles, classified ads, etc. Most of which can be made either private, available to registered users only or public.   

The new code is also W3C compliant and should meet most Section508 regulations that site owners should comply with for many reasons.   

The calendar of events is now database driven and will always been current without any ongoing maitenance.  

I do respect that this site belongs to the club and its members, so if there is anything you wish to change, or if you have any questions, comments or feedback, whether it be good, bad, large or small, please contact a club officier and/or via email to myself at webmaster@mainevwclub.org
